Altius

Submitted for the Brackey's Game Jam 2023.2

Altius is a first person 3D, casual, underwater exploration game similar to games like Abzu or Treasures of the Deep. The objective is to find the different items scattered across the map, and explore. There are 25 chests, 6 gems, and many coins, but you only need 300 to count as finished.

This is my first game jam, and honestly, the first game I ever really "finished", I have about a bazillion half-finished projects lol. The theme for the jam was "Diving Deeper", so I wanted to do something that dove deep both literally and figuratively. I settled on the idea of using knowledge as a treasure, and the more facts you find, the deeper they get (facts about the universe and quantum physics), although there are some that are funny, and just interesting to know. I just really liked the idea of treasure in the game being something you can actually take into real life.
